 New Project Rough Riot, with former members of Quiet Riot and Rough Cutt, announce live debut at Count’s Vamp’d in Las Vegas Rough Riot, a new project featuring Paul Shortino and Carlos Cavazo, along with Sean McNabb, Chris Hager and Dave Alford, will play their first live show on November 2nd in Las Vegas. The rock metal outfit combines former members of Quiet Riot’s QR4 and present Rough Cutt in a new hard rock outfit that will feature music from both prior groups. Rough Cutt is an American metal band that included Shortino, Hager and Alford (as well as McNabb in later formation), that within months of recording a demo with Ronnie James Dio landed a deal on Warner Bros. Records. Rough Cutt released 2 albums, a self titled debut, as well as Wants You!, both of which received moderate success int the mid-80’s, and the band went on to tour extensively worldwide. Rough Cutt reunited in 2016, and played live Monsters of Rock Cruise and live dates with the additional classic members Matt Thorne and Amir Derakh. In addition to fronting Rough Cutt, Shortino took over the role of lead vocalist for Quiet Riot’s 6th album QR4, which is the base for the ‘Riot” in Rough Riot. QR4 was released in 1988, with Shortino, Cavazo and McNabb in tow, and featured the singles “Stay With Me Tonight” and “I’m Fallin”. “I’m more than excited to work with my QR4 brothers Carlos and Sean again - Chris, Dave and I have been performing this year in the newly reunited Rough Cutt, and it will be amazing to combine with Carlos and Sean in this new band and take it live to the fans”. - Paul Shortino Rough Riot takes the best of both worlds for its repertoire, with a upcoming set list that includes songs from QR4 and both Rough Cutt releases, as well as a few surprises.
 We will be including songs from QR4 as well as both Rough Cutt Albums, some which have not been played live in decades”, says Shortino. “It will be a special night, with some surprises for the hard core Rough Cutt fans, as well as some classic QR”. The six degrees of Rough Riot history... Paul Shortino is an American rock singer and musician who has sung for several bands, including Rough Cutt/The Cutt, Quiet Riot, Bad Boyz, King Kobra, and Shortino. Shortino recorded lead vocals for the Heavy Metal benefit project Hear ’n Aid, the single from which, "We're Stars" also features lead vocals by heavy metal singers Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Geoff Tate, Don Dokken, and Kevin Dubrow. He has also recorded as a solo artist, and is a tatented writer and producer, and is well known for his performance in This is Spinal Tap as Duke Fame. Shortino is also currently performing in the cast of Raiding the Rock Vault at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. Carlos Cavazo is an American hard rock guitarist best known for his work with Quiet Riot, after replacing Randy Rhoads in 1982. Cavazo was integral as lead guitarist in Quiet Riot from ’82 until the band disbanded after 2001’s Guilty Pleasures, and prior to Quiet Riot was in the band Snow. Cavazo and Shortino performed together on QR4, and Cavazo was also part of the Hear ’n Aid benefit project. He has also played with 3 Legged Dogg, Hollywood Allstarz, and was guitarist for Ratt with for a number of years until 2018.


Sean McNabb is an American actor, musician/bassist and singer, who moved to Los Angels at 21 and after only two weeks became the bassist for Quiet Riot. He went on to record QR4 with Shortino and Cavazo. McNabb and after Quiet Riot went on to play and record with bands including Dokken, House of Lords, Montrose, Don Felder, Queensryche, Bobby Kimball, Gilby Clarke. The last five years with George Lynch’s Lynch Mob. While still on tour, he is also an accomplished TV/Film actor. He has co- starred recently in two Lifetime Network movies “ Cheerleader Nightmare” and “Dying for a baby.” He also appeared in many Indie films, FX TV's
 Sons of Anarchy, and hosted Best of AXS TV Concerts 2012 - Legends of Rock. Dave Alford, also known as Rockin’ Dave, is an American heavy metal rock drummer, singer, songwriter and producer who has played in the bands Max Havoc, Jailhouse, Mod Ev, and Ratt, and was an original member of Rough Cutt with Shortino. Alford also contributed to the Hear 'n Aid video project with Shortino and Cavazo, where various heavy metal/ hard rock artists collaborated to raise money for Famine Relief in 1985. More recently Hagar toured with Ratt for several years and reunited with Rough Cutt in 2016 for live dates. Chris Hager began his career as a rock guitarist, co-founding the rock group Ratt (originally Mickey Ratt) with singer Stephen Pearcy. He also cofounded the Sunset Strip band, Sarge, which led to joining Rough Cutt in ‘83 (along with Matt Thorne, who also originated in Ratt ). Hager worked as a producer/ engineer & writer, landing songs on a number of Stephen Pearcy’s solo records including a track on the record Arcade, and went on to obtain a gold record for guitar work done on the Orgy record, Vapor Transmission. More recently Hager has toured with Ratt since 2012, and reunited with Rough Cutt in 2016 for live dates. Hager also performs regularly with world-class musicians at Ultimate Jam Night at the Whisky a go-go in Hollywood.
